RESEARCH PROCESS
This research started by exploring changes of the aging process, such as retirement, increase the risks of diseases and disabilities, social exclusion, loss of loved ones and the need of older people for family and community support. One of the main goals was to examine the social community and it’s approach to elders.

The process of researching the topic began by contacting the Register of Pensioners of the City of Zagreb and other associations that hold certain activities and workshops for the elderly. The primary goal was to gain a clearer picture of the elderly life through conversations with them. After completing the field test, it is necessary to focus on all the elements that can help to improve the quality of life of pensioners.

Through a conversation with Mrs. Đurđa Novaković, a certain insight was gained into what kind of people become members and what programs are organized and implemented in order to enrich the lives of retirees. The most popular activities are dance and folklore, which are held twice a month. The exercises are held in Maksimir, the Knežija Social Center and in their hall at the Matica headquarters.
MEMORY AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR
Memory is one of the cognitive processes that fall under cognitive psychology. Our memory can be strongly influenced by our emotions, mood and the situation we are in. The original idea of a potential solution for training mental abilities was games. There are plenty of banal games, that are also used for children. However, through a more detailed analysis and conversation with pensioners, the conclusion was that they are not willing to learn new things, especially if they cannot master them without difficulty. If a greater effort is required in order to understand and accept the rules of a certain game, this very quickly turns into frustration and immediately afterwards into giving up.
VISUAL IDENTITY
The main guide for creating the identity was the name of the workshop Svijet baka i đaka handwritten in ink. That kind of lettering gave a recollection feeling as they always write everything down with a pen. Another element, a "star" sign is placed in the background, as a reminder that the grandmothers are main stars of this workshop. A bright orange colour was used as the primary colour, which would stand out inside the library, but also wouldn’t deviate too much from the interior.

Further upgrading of the visual identity, the goal was to bring the term "grandmother" closer to the target group without literal illustrations of grandmothers or children. The next step was to conduct a short survey asking respondents: What items remind you of grandmothers?

SVIJET BAKA I ĐAKA
All motives of things reminiscent of grandmothers were used in the creation of posters, flyers, web pages, mail invitations, stickers and bookmarks. On the main poster there is a space left for sticking post-it stickers on which the librarians can write the date and time of the workshop. The poster consists of two parts, one is intended for parents and children, and the other is an invitation to grandmothers to apply. It is written briefly what all target groups can expect at the workshops.

The application forms are reduced to the most basic information and have a reduced format for practicality. There are two application forms, for grandmothers and parents (mailing list) to avoid confusion.
